Missa Se la façe ay pale

educational workshop on singing and music by Claudia Caffagni

The third edition of Musica antica in casa Cozzi, a project organized by Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche and almamusica433, under the artistic direction of Maestro Stefano Trevisi, will be centered on a workshop on singing and music with the teacher Claudia Caffagni.

This in-resident educational project will be structured in three stages, for a total of 15 days, during which students will focus on Guillaume Du Fay's mass Se la façe ay pale, starting from the direct analysis of the original source materials (I-TRbc MS 1375 [88]and V-CVbav MS Capp. Sist. 14). The project is aimed at performing the mass, in view of a possible recording and participation to concerts during some of the most important Italian Festivals of ancient music, starting from October 2016.

The course will be held at Luisa and Gaetano Cozzi's house. This farm house, located in the countryside near Treviso, provides the natural setting for music performance, following the wish expressed by Gaetano Cozzi, who donated it to Fondazione Benetton, and thanks to the peculiar atmosphere of this environment surrounded by silence that makes it the ideal place for music.

The first meeting is scheduled from 6th to 10th January 2016.

The dates of the next meetings will be agreed with the participants.
