Si forma alla Contemporary Dance School di Londra ed è ballerina, coreografa e pedagoga di ballo, specializzata nella danza antica. Il suo lavoro artistico da solista include collaborazioni con pittori, musicisti, attori, artisti visive e registi. Si è esibita in varie produzioni collegate alla musica antica come, ad esempio, l’opera Amadis de Gaulle di Johann Christian Bach, prodotto dall’Opera Comique a Parigi e al Royal Opera di Versailles. È regolarmente coinvolta nei progetti del gruppo di musica antica Capella Carniola (Slovenia) e Laberintos Ingeniosos (Spagna).
Ha curato le coreografie per alcune opere, esplorando la tradizione della musica antica nel contesto contemporaneo: Bassa continua (Ljubljana, 2005), Barok (Ljubljana 2007), Patricia’s Lace (Montenegro, 2007), Dance Macabre (Switzerland, 2012) e più recentemente: BACH eMotion, un duetto con il suonatore di liuto barocco Xavier Diaz-Latorre, originario della Spagna (2014, 2016).
Ha lavorato, inoltre, come consulente del movimento e coreografa per svariate produzioni teatrali in Slovenia, al National Theatre Drama di Ljubljana, al National Theatre di Nova Gorica, al Glej theatre di Ljubljana e al Theatre KIC di Podgorica, in Montenegro.
Come pedagoga di ballo è stata attiva in tutto il territorio della Slovenia, e all’estero (Austria, Italia, Francia, Regno Unito, Germania, Russia, Croazia, Montenegro), sia nel campo della musica contemporanea sia in quello della musica antica.
È uno dei membri del gruppo di consulenza pedagogica per il progetto internazionale “eeemerging” (Emerging European Ensembles) diretto da Ambronay Cultural Encounter Centre in Francia e insegna regolarmente all’International Summer Academy for Early Music and Dance Musica Locopolitana in Slovenia. Al momento sta anche sviluppando un suo programma Skok v Barok.
Dal 2009, inoltre, è ingaggiata come Direttore del gruppo di danza contemporaneo EnKnapGroup, a Ljubljana.
Since the graduation, Tanja has been active both on Slovenian contemporary dance scene and abroad.
As a dancer she collaborated with many principal Slovenian choreographers, within companies such as Dance Theatre of Ljubljana (Plesni Teater Ljubljana), Fleet (Flota), Fourklor Physical Theatre and Celinka.
She has participated as a co-author and performer in numerous projects related to special events, with institutions such as RTV Slovenia, The Republic of Slovenia, The ministry of Culture and several more on local scale.
Her solo artistic work includes collaboration with painters, musicians, actors, visual artists and film directors.
In 2003 she started to explore the world of historical dance, starting first with Italian and French Renaissance, English Country Dances and later French Baroque dance. She took extensive dance education with artists and dance researchers from France, Italy, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
She danced in various productions related to historical dance. Amongst them was the opera Amadis de Gaulle by Johann Christian Bach in production of Opera Comique in Paris and premiered at the Royal Opera of Versailles. Recently she also works on a project with ensemble Laberintos Ingeniosos from Catalonia.
She is regulary involved in various projects of Early Music and Dance Ensemble Capella Carniola.
In her choreographic work she explores a tight connection between movement and music and the theatrical expression of movement being through the use of structures of phrases, the use of space or the relation between dancers.
She composed five full length pieces and many shorter pieces both for professional dancers and students of dance.
Since 2005 she has also worked as a choreographer or movement advisor for various theatre productions.

Since the very beginning of her dancing career, she has been engaging in education and has been teaching in various dance organizations all over Slovenia and abroad, both in the fields of contemporary dance and historical dance forms.
She has been artistic director of Dance Studio Intakt- dance organization, which offers regular program of open class education in contemporary dance. From 2000 to 2006 she taught regularly at the first Slovenian Contemporary Dance High School, teaching contemporary dance technique and she continues to give workshops in contemporary dance and movement for various institutions.
She is regularly invited to teach early dance forms to musicians and dancers at the International Summer Academy Musica Locopolitana in Škofja Loka, Slovenija.
Since October 2013 she is also developing her own platform of open Baroque dance masterclasses called Skok v barok (Jump into Baroque).
From December 2014 she appears as a movement, dance and early dance consultant within the european project “eeemerging - Emerging European Ensembles“, directed by Centre Culturel de Rencontre d’Ambronayand in partnership with SEVIQC Festival Brežice.
Since 2009 Tanja Skok is active as a Rehearsal Director of EnKnapGroup, the only repertory based ensemble of contemporary dance in Slovenia. The company is performing works of the Artistic Director and founder of the group Iztok Kovač, as well as works by a large number of invited choreographers from the international contemporary dance scene.
